CHITTENANGO LIONS CLUB HOLDS 36TH INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS
The Chittenango Lions Club for
the 26th time held it's installation of new officers. The
2008-2009 officers were installed on June 19th at the Rusty Rail, by
Past Lions International Director Robert Seibert of the North Syracuse Club.
The new Chittenango Lions Club officers for 2008-2009 are: President - Lee
Finkle, 1st V.P. Glenn - Stevens, 2nd V.P. - Peter Owens,
3rd V.P. - Michael Lynch, Secretary - Jack Kern, Treasure - Richard
Steinbach, Financial Secretary - Marty Iritz, Directors 2 years - Brice Kaiser
and Greg Ellstrom, Directors one year - Nelson Smith and Nick Staffiero, Lion
Tamer - Charles Grover, Tail Twister - Bruce Hall, and Past Presidents Jim
English and Peter Stevens.
In addition to the installation of the 2008-2009
officers, the following took place before the 55 members and friends in
attendance:
- held it's annual corporate meeting charied by President Jim English
- presented 30 perfect attendance pins for 2007-2008
- awarded Life Memberships to Bruce Hall and Lee Finkle
- presented a Robert Uplinger Service Award to Glenn Stevens
- prisented Club President's Awards to Louise Jerome, Bruce Kaiser and Bruce Hall
- presented Jim English with a Past President's Award
- honored John Demlein, father of Lion Peter Demlein, for donating one of his paintings to the Club which was part of the Lion's annual fund raiser. The 2007-2008 winner was Lion Glenn Stevens.
- Lion Rae Haynes was presented a Melvin Jones Humanitarian Service Award earlier, since she was not able to be present.

Special Recognition for Service: Chittenango Lion Glenn Stevens was presented a "Robert Uplinger Service Award" by Past International Director Robert Seibert on
June 19th at the Clubs 36th annual Installation and Awards Cermony. Lion Stevens has been a club member for over 30 years and during that period of time
served as club president in 1981-82 and 1996-97. He will be 1st Vice President in 2008-09 and likely serve as president for a third time in 2009-10.
The award bears the name of Robert Uplinger, who was the International Lions President in 1971-72, the year Chittenango was chartered.
Passing the Gavel: Continuing the 36 year tradition, Jim English (L) passes the gavel to incoming President Lee Finkle
at the Chittenango lions Club annual Installation and Awards Ceremony on June 19th. Lion Finkle previously served as president 1992-93 and 2000-01.
He announced plans for 2008-09 and thanked the Past President, Jim English, for his leadership over the past year.
