LIONS ENTERTAIN 125 CHILDREN AT MUSEUM
It was the annual "Erie Halloween" at the Chittenango
Landing Canal Boat Museum on October 28th. The museum staff arranged a fun day for children as a lead
up to Halloween. For many years the Chittenango Lions have taken part by sponsoring a
"Pumpkin Painting
Project". The Lions provided 125 pumpkins, face painting supplies and supervision. There are no prizes,
but each child may keep his/her pumpkin.
The day prior to the event several Lions transported the 125 pumpkins
from the Durfee farm to the CLCBM, clean them and make them ready for the next day. This year the
Chittenango Lions who took part that weekend were: co-chair Buck LeMessurier and Lee Finkle, Pat and
Louise Jerome, Nelson and Maureen Smith, Steve Waite, Linda Llewellyn and Greg Ellstrom.

Cleaning Before Decorating: L-R Lions Nelson Smith, Lee Finkle, and Greg Ellstrom clean 125 pumpkins the day before "Erie Halloween" getting them ready for decorating by the children.
